I noticed this here in Ontario as well. If you go looking at the whole province it appears green. But if you zoom in you see the ecocide and devastation (only 00.01% of the old growth forest remains here in southern Ontario which used to go from horizon to horizon).
I think it is a sort of psychological warfare tactic to mess with people's heads.
